Engineers without Borders "Social Change and Youth Leadership Conference"

Students are invited to attend the Social Change and Youth Leadership Conference (SCYLC) hosted by the Engineers Without Borders chapter at the University of Toronto. This conference is an exciting opportunity for high school students to develop leadership skills and learn about international development issues, including sustainability, climate change and risk management. The conference will be held at the University of Toronto, St. George campus from May 28 to 29 (we will be providing accommodation and food for students).

This year, the theme of the conference is Risk It! On Saturday, students will hear from guest speakers on risk and resource management in a global context. After a day of listening to our amazing speakers, they will stay overnight in one of the university’s residences and participate in meaningful discussions and fun activities. On Sunday, the students will have the opportunity to apply what they have learned in a design challenge. Students will be divided into teams and given three hours to tackle a real-world development issue and the winning team will receive a prize.

The registration cost is $89 CAD and includes residence, all meals, conference materials, a t-shirt and other conference takeaways. Students may earn free admissions through referrals!

  1. Happy to know about this conference. Few days ago I attended a women conference at one of corporate event venues San Francisco where many ladies took part. I found it really best and quite informative too. Had a great time there.
